The first Annual Meeting of FUTUREVOLC was held 23-25 September 2013 in South Iceland with around 80 participants from 12 countries. Progress of the initial 12 months of the project was reported, in particular the set up of various instruments on Icelandic volcanoes. Planning was made for the next steps. After two days of lectures and discussions at Hotel Hekla, an excursion was made to Mt. Hekla and the Eastern Volcanic Zone of Iceland.
